Do we work as hard as we do الى create لـ its own sake, الى contribute الى open research, الى sell ال products من our ابداعي process, or الى make progress و transcend ال limits من what we thought was possible before?

There’s something about ابداعي work that makes it hard الى talk about. As if opening up ال patterns من ازاي it’s made, what it does, what it says, ازاي we got here, or ازاي you might take it في a different way الى go farther still, means we will inevitably lose what makes us special. We can see a hint من that fear في ال raw reactions الى ذكاء اصطناعي art, or ال strange rejections من web3, by creators who have been burned by years من effort و belief في a system من ال world that’s gone الى waste.
There is work الى be done still الى communicate better ال deep symmetries between open synth models, diy protocols لـ سوشيال mobility, و creativity.
But let’s first take a look more closely at one place where their shared properties should be obvious, through sales من NFTs.
ال thing is, most من ال market still doesn’t know what NFTs are. That’s a problem. لـ ال market.
Superficially, it fills our feeds مع noise, و gives incumbents an excuse الى become tyrants. Fear من who owns what, who makes what, و near unlimited ابداعي expression tends الى do that.
ال bigger problem is when في ال middle من all that noise و conflict we forget what we’re here الى do. Strip it all away الى find ال action.
Markets make raw materials into resources و move them من person الى person, place الى place.
ال problem في virtual, latent, و IRL spaces لـ all من us who depend على markets is ازاي much we lose when nothing works as it did, could, or should.
Web3, و less obviously NFTs, fix what’s broken في our markets by coordinating what’s made و ازاي it moves.
Let that sink في.
At a descriptive distance, NFTs are conductors في code لـ ال open praxis و patterns we didn’t know we missed. Ziegler would be thrilled.
They are, more plainly, nonfungible — — not all ال same. No more than all art has ال same value, whether made by human hands holding a needle & ثريد, a graphics tablet & wireless pen, or crafting prompts, training models, و running endless steps through night after night without sleep.
Like most things في glass dial economies, their value comes من appearance, what they say about status, و material use.
When they are recognizably good في one or more من those features, they shorten ال distance between imagined و real. و when combined مع hard work و good patterns الى reference, ال burning اسئلة become:
