• Milestone complete: All $MONA has been minted!
Wow! We really did it! 11,300 $MONA has been minted and the allocation for this week’s distribution has been sent on to the smart contract. Onwards and upwards from here!

• Should you disavow your work if Nazis use it without permission?
Although Nazis have been known to be exquisite connoisseurs of fine art, gold and other luxuries, they acquired those goods through blatant disregard for laws and the industrialised slaughter of the people they stole that art from in gas chambers and the like.
I don’t think Nazis give a damn whether something is cc0 or fully locked down by Disney and co.
The floor at the heart of all of these anti-cc0/ anti-openness nonsense arguments is the idea that currencies, tokens and common knowhow aren’t as agnostic to who uses them as dollars, sunlight, electricity and air.
Open sharing of skills and knowledge is an inherit good regardless of how many bad people make use of them. For good and bad to make any sense at all we have to recognise what bad really means: shutting down the ability and potential for people to live, gain knowhow and skills and flourish.
That’s why Nazis and North Koreans are bad, because they want to lock down what everyone else can do— if they leave us alive at all.
And that’s why CC0 is so powerful against them. It guarantees ubiquitous global access to everything humanity has to offer.

Couldn’t agree more. If you don’t yet get why cc0 is and has been entirely native to decentralisation since the earliest days, either go study or find yourself a time machine. Those of us that were around back then know.

The silly part is how true this is.
Luckily with web3, birthday gifts from parents isn’t the only way anymore.
